Oscars have been postponed two months later due to the coronavirus.
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and the ABC Television Network announced the 93rd Oscars will be held on April 25, 2021, with the consideration of the effect caused to the movie industry in the coronavirus pandemic.
The eligibility window will be extended to February 28, 2012. The opening of the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures will also be extended from December until April 30, 2021.
Academy President David Rubin and Academy CEO Dawn Hudson said the decision of extending the eligibility period and our Awards date is hope to provide more flexibility to filmmakers in finishing and releasing their films without penalty for factors that beyond their control.
